Newark’s Parish Church will be bathed in the lights and sounds of the forest this November thanks to a stunning co-created project by Newark Creates and Inspire with artists Urban Projections, CJ Mirra and students from Magnus Academy. The remarkable installation, titled Fallen From The Same Tree, will be free to attend between the hours of 5.30pm and 9pm on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th November.

Environment Agency are actively monitoring levels on the Trent, and advise it is highly likely that levels will peak and more areas will flood. The timings are not confirmed but are likely to be rising throughout Sunday. If you live in an area which has experienced flooding in the past, or near to areas that have flooded, please prepare. There is a chance that flooding may expand to neighbouring properties which have previously been unaffected. Newark and Sherwood District Council officers arrived at Turner Lane play area in Boughton on Tuesday morning, continuing the £350,000 redevelopment of play parks across the district, to find that vandals had smashed down and damaged all the secure fencing surrounding the site. Upon entering the park, the vandals had bent the fencing, threw rubbish everywhere and left.

Three teenagers have been banned from Newark Town Centre following numerous incidents of Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) against residents and businesses. Despite many interventions and repeated warnings, their distressing and threatening behaviour failed to stop, and Newark and Sherwood District Council and Nottinghamshire Police worked together to take legal action to give the victims the reassurance of their safety back.
