Additional funding available to support rural groups in improving their community
Posted on: Tuesday, May 9, 2023Rural businesses in the district can now apply for funding to support capital projects that address challenges faced in local rural areas. Thanks to Newark and Sherwood District Council, an extra £891k is secured over the next two years to develop and invest in rural communities and the economy.
This extra funding has been secured through the Governments’ Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF), an addition to the £3.29m UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) which had already been secured by the District Council back in December 2022.The funding will support a wide variety of capital projects between April 2023 and March 2025 that aim on making a positive difference to rural communities.
Through REPF the District Council have launched the Rural Business Investment Programme that will provide grants to successful rural businesses looking to diversify their income streams, grow and create further opportunities for residents.

Applications close on Wednesday 7 June 2023 at 5pm.
