Gladstone House is a new extra care development for over 65's just off Bowbridge Road in Newark.
This exciting new project is being built to meet the needs of our community. It has been designed to allow people to live life to the full, independently and safely, as their needs change over time.
The care service available is tailored to suit the needs of individual people.
The interior has been designed by a specialist designer to make sure that the scheme works well for anyone requiring extra care, including those with low level dementia.
It is packed with features which make life easier for residents, like: designated charging spaces for mobility scooters, wet rooms, assisted bathing rooms, guest suites and underfloor heating. Residents can also enjoy spacious and bright communal areas, a beauty room and hobby rooms.
Gladstone House comprises 60 one and two bedroom apartments over three levels, including 40 with extra care services. Facilities also include communal areas, rooms designated for activities, a sensory garden and a commercial kitchen.
Apartments are allocated through the existing housing register and through nominations from the Nottinghamshire County Council for those requiring extra care.
To apply for one of the 20 apartments allocated by the Newark and Sherwood Distict Council, you need to be on the council’s housing register. Find out more about applying for housing at Gladstone House.
The scheme is the result of a successful bid for £1.5m of funding from the Department of Health’s Extra Care and Support Programme, administered by the Homes England, and funding from Newark and Sherwood District Council, Nottinghamshire County Council and Newark and Sherwood Homes.
