Gladstone House residents enjoy tea dance

18 October 2018

Residents at Gladstone House in Newark took part in a tea dance to celebrate International Day of Older Persons.

Mike Hall and Maggie George from MLM Dance, who run dance classes in Balderton and Coddington, put on a show for the residents, including dance classics the waltz, foxtrot, rumba and ballroom.

The residents were then able to join in and have a go themselves, after enjoying a hot drink and a slice of cake.

Gladstone House opened in April this year and provides independent living for older people with support needs. It is managed by Newark and Sherwood Homes and was delivered in partnership with Newark and Sherwood District Council, Nottinghamshire County Council and Homes England.

Rebecca Rance, chief executive at Newark and Sherwood Homes, commented: “It was great to see the residents enjoying themselves, either by watching Mike and Maggie demonstrate the different dances or by getting involved.”
