Green fingered volunteers from Eton Avenue Growers Association have been taking advantage of the wonderful weather and have helped the residents of Bellmond Close in Newark to tidy their gardens as part of our ‘Spruce up your Garden’ series of events.
As part of the event, our partner Eton Avenue Growers, staff and local residents helped with mowing lawns, tidying edges and strimming overgrown bushes. The aim is to help residents and local communities who may be struggling to manage their gardens independently to spruce up outside areas and provide a more pleasant view for all.
Paula Joyce, senior housing officer at Newark and Sherwood Homes, said: “It is absolutely fantastic to help local communities improve their green space. We are extremely grateful to the Eton Avenue Growers for giving their time to helping the residents of Bellmond Close spruce up their gardens. The work is important for community development and engagement and it was great to see residents getting involved alongside us.”
The next event will take place in October in a different local area.
