Eco-friendly volunteers came together to create a new greenhouse at Barnby Road Academy, Newark.
Partnering with the Rotary Club of Newark, we were proud to supply manpower to build the new greenhouse, which has been built using 1,400 plastic bottles collected by pupils of Barnby Road Academy.
Our board member Ken Sutton, who is also a member of the Rotary Club led the project after hearing that the school was looking for volunteers to help create the unique greenhouse.
Rebecca Rance chief executive at Newark and Sherwood Homes, said: “We are very pleased to be able to help with this eco-friendly project. Our staff are committed to making a difference in local communities every day and as a local company we are keen to support sustainable initiatives across our district. Well done to everyone involved in this great partnership initiative!”
Over 10 volunteers worked together to create the new eco-friendly greenhouse. The frame of the structure was sponsored by Veolia, a firm which works in partnership with Nottinghamshire County Council to manage household waste.
