Newark and Sherwood Homes is working in partnership with Woodhead Group, on behalf of Newark and Sherwood District Council, to deliver six one-bedroom flats and three two-bedroom flats on Queens Court, Lovers Lane in Newark.
This development at Queens Court marks the start of the second year of the partnership in a five year programme of work to deliver 335 new homes across the district.
Steve Feast, Director at Newark and Sherwood Homes, said: “Year two of the programme is already well underway and we are on time, on target and on budget to deliver a total of 50 new homes across nine sites.
“Every person should be able to access the housing they need and this programme creates new opportunities to transform the lives of local people.”
Councillor Bruce Laughton, chairman of the Homes and Communities Committee at Newark and Sherwood District Council commented: “This development is an example of where underutilised land is being transformed to deliver much needed homes for local people as part of our five year programme. It is great to see the progress being made.”
In year one Woodhead Group and Newark and Sherwood Homes delivered 70 new homes using local tradespeople and suppliers, creating six full time jobs and providing 16 people with work experience opportunities, with more than 97.88% of labour and materials sourced from within a 40 mile radius.
