Newark and Sherwood Homes has been named as one of the best places to work in the UK, ranking 66th in The Sunday Times Top 100 Best Not-For-Profit Organisations to Work For 2019.
The placement was determined from a Best Companies survey, which measures how engaged people are at work and how they feel about their employer.
Improving on last year’s score, Newark and Sherwood Homes received a 1 star accreditation from Best Companies and was recognised for ‘very good’ levels of employee engagement, management, social principles and staff wellbeing.
Rebecca Rance, chief executive at Newark and Sherwood Homes, said: “It is great to see that our staff view Newark and Sherwood Homes as a great place to work. The motivation and commitment of our staff is what drives the Company forward and allows us to excel in delivering excellent housing services.”
The Company also features at number 20 in the Top 25 Housing Associations to Work for list, which is published by 24housing magazine. The listing had the following comments:
'Newark and Sherwood Homes performed exceptionally well in the Leadership category by ensuring its core values, which include putting the customer first and delivering excellence, are always realised. It also shone in the My Manager category thanks to its High-Calibre Manager, an internal programme that helps ensure managerial quality within the company; as well as the Wellbeing category, where it was found the likes of its agile working and flexible working policies enhanced staff wellbeing.'
These achievements build on an already successful year after we won Project of the Year at the EEM Building Communities Awards, for our successful project management and partnership with Newark and Sherwood District Council, Nottinghamshire County Council and Homes England in delivering Gladstone House in Newark. We were also crowned runner up in the categories of Housing Provider of the Year and Social Housing New Build of the year.
