Our chief executive, Rebecca Rance, has been named in 24housing magazine's 'Top 50 Power Players'.
Scooping the 25th place, the list profiles individuals who use their power to influence the housing sector and wider society for the better.
Rebecca was recognised by the magazine for her successful leadership of Newark and Sherwood Homes and the role she played in lobbying nationally for the removal of the Housing Revenue Account (HRA) borrowing cap. The Government announced its intention to remove the cap in October 2018, allowing Council’s up and down the country to borrow more to build more new homes where they are needed.
Rebecca commented: “We have a demonstrable need for affordable housing across the country and scrapping the debt cap opens the possibility of building more and helping to solve the national housing shortage. Our partnership with Newark and Sherwood District Council is allowing us to deliver 335 homes over five years. I’m humbled to have been included in this prestigious list; however it is a testament to the whole team at Newark and Sherwood Homes.”
Joining Rebecca on the top 50 list included Minister of State for Housing, Kit Malthouse, and Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan.
Well done Rebecca!
