We are delighted to announce that our very own Investment Manager, Mick Carman, has been included as the number one unsung hero in housing in 24housing magazine’s 40 over forty list!
The list aims to highlight the strength of the housing sector through the dedicated and passionate housing professionals who work hard every day to improve the lives of tenants across the country. Mick’s long term service to the sector was congratulated by the magazine’s editor.
2018 marks 40 years Mick Carman has been serving the Newark and Sherwood district, first starting at Newark and Sherwood District Council as an apprentice electrician in 1978 aged 17.
Commenting on the achievement, Mick said: “I am very honoured to have been selected for inclusion on this list, celebrating the many inspirational housing professionals across the sector. It has been a pleasure to work in this great district for so many years and I look forward to continuing to deliver excellent housing services and making a difference for our tenants and communities.”
Rebecca Rance, chief executive at Newark and Sherwood Homes, commented: “Everyone here knows Mick as the ‘oracle’; he knows every home and address and drives value for money and efficiency through the supply chain to ensure tenants get the best value and service. As well as driving inward investment and supporting sustainable tenancies for residents, Mick is a consistent, respected and professional colleague and mentor.”
