Freedom of Information

If you wish to make a request for public information under the Freedom of Information Act, you can write to us or email freedom@newark-sherwooddc.gov.uk. We have 20 working days to respond to requests made under Freedom of Information. Please clearly state in your request the information you request.

Making a complaint, comment or compliment

In the event that you feel we have not dealt with something properly, please contact us and a review of your complaint will be carried out by one of our business unit managers.

Data Protection Act – Subject Access Requests

You have the right to access your personal information and make a request for this under the terms of the Data Protection Act. Please write to us or email freedom@newark-sherwooddc.gov.uk. We have one calendar month to respond to subject access requests made under the Data Protection Act (i.e. a request received on 20th of the month must be responded to by 20th of the following month or the next avalable working day if 20th falls on a weekend or non working day). Please clearly state in your request all of the information you are requesting.   

Under the Data Protection Act, we have a duty to provide reasonable assistance to anyone wanting to make a request. Therefore, you can ask for assistance if you have a disability that prevents you from making a written request.  It is not mandatory that your request is in writing.  

Environmental Information Regulations

You have the right to access public information and make a request for public information under the Environmental Information Regulations. Please write to us or email freedom@newark-sherwooddc.gov.uk. We have 20 working days to respond to requests made under Freedom of Information. Please clearly state in your request the environmental information you are requesting.
